It is essential to participate in all the components of fitness in order to reach your fitnessgoals. At the Outdoor Fitness Adventure Club we make it easy for you to take motivating & diverse classes reaching your potential and avoiding overuse-syndrome. MOVE - for a healthy cardiopulmonary system & caloric expenditure. STRENGTH - for strong bones, greater lean tissue mass (LTM) & increased basal metabolic rate (BMR) increase. STRETCH - for greater flexibility and balance. REPAIR- for proper recovery. We have outlined the classes that fit in those categories.
Descriptions and Directions:
Caspers Park: 33401 Ortega Highway. Located off Ortega Highway just a few miles up from the intersection of Antonio Parkway and Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano, it is right below the Cleveland National Forest in the Santa Ana Moutain Range.
Christianitos North: Exit Vista Hermosa from I-5, drive away from the Ocean. Drive several miles, turn left at Avenida Talega; drive to the end of the street, free parking available at the end of Avenida Talega.
Colinas Bluff Trail: Meet at the corner of Marina Hills and Golden Lantern in Laguna Niguel. We'll meet at the outside courtyard next to Starbucks. Park between McDonalds and Starbucks. Colinas Bluff Trail, Marina Hills Drive and Golden Lantern, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
Dana Point Harbor: Take PCH north from San Clemente; turn left into Dana Point Harbor Drive. Turn right at the first street, (Laguna Marriott entrance) take an immediate right into the lower parking lot entrance.
Dana Point Headlands: From PCH in Dana Point turn left on Blue Lantern, at Santa Clara, turn right, at Green Lantern turn left, We will meet at the Nature Interpretive Center, park in the lot or on Green Lantern
Dana Point JETSKI: Take PCH North from San Clemente. Turn left at Dana Point Harbor Drive. At Puerto Place make another left, Dana Point JETSKI is on the right side, enter past the chain link fence, park in the parking lot in front of Dana Point JETSKI.
Dana Point Peninsula: Take I-5, exiting onto Beach Cities /PCH / Dana Point Harbor Drive Turn Left on to Dana Point Harbor Drive. Turn Left On to Island Drive, crossing the bridge over thewater. Turn Right onto Dana Road, park just up ahead on the left.
Dog Park (State Park Trails): Take Avenida Pico toward the Mountains & away from the Ocean. Drive approximately 2+ miles, at La Pata turn right, drive to the end of the street park in the culdesac. Enter the trail on the left side of the dog park.
Forster Highlands: Exit Camino de Estrella from Interstate 5 turn toward the hills, away from the ocean. (Camino de Estrella turns into Camino de los Mares) pass through Forster Ranch. Turn right on Camino Del Rio, drive to the top of the street until it dead-ends, park at the top. Wide to narrow dirt trails, easy to difficult terrain, light to moderate brush.
Hunt Club Feeder Trail: Take I-5 North, exit Ortega Hwy, turn right.
Drive in the right hand lane looking for Cordoba Lane to the right.
Turn right on Cordoba Lane, park immediately on curbside by the greenbelt.
The most difficult part of this hike is crossing Ortega Hwy. Do not cross on your own, please wait until we have all gathered, we will cross as a group to the head of the trail.
Ladera: (From San Clemente) Exit Ortega (Highway 74) from Interstate 5, and turn right (away from the ocean). Continue on Ortega for 2.6 miles, and turn left on Antonio Parkway. Turn Left on O'Neil (2nd light) Go through 4 roundabouts always staying on O'Neil, Right on Cecil Pasture (1st light after the 4th roundabout) This takes you straight into the parking lot for the Wagsdale Dog Park.
(From Laguna Niguel/Laguna Beach) Exit Crown Valley Parkway from Interstate 5, and turn east (away from the ocean). Continue on Crown Valley Parkway for 2 miles Turn Right on Cecil Pasture (2nd light after Marguerite) Stay to the right through the roundabout Cross O'Neil into the parking lot for the Wagsdale Dog Park. OR follow Google Maps to the park
Ladera Ranch: (From San Clemente) Exit Ortega (Highway 74) from Interstate 5, and turn right (away from the ocean). Continue on the road for 2.6 miles, and turn left on Antonio Parkway. Continue for 3.5 miles and turn right on Station Way (next to Ladera Ranch Fire Station, 58 Station Way, Ladera Ranch, CA 92694). Park along Station Way or in the adjacent apartment parking lot. This trail takes you to Ladera Ranch hills. Wide and narrow trails, dirt, some brush moderate terrain. (From Laguna Niguel/Laguna Beach) Exit Crown Valley Parkway from Interstate 5, and turn east (away from the ocean). Continue on Crown Valley Parkway for 3 miles, and turn left on Antonio Parkway. Turn right on Station Way (next to Ladera Ranch Fire Station, 58 Station Way, Ladera Ranch, CA 92694). Park along Station Way or in the adjacent apartment parking lot. This trail takes you to Ladera Ranch hills. Wide and narrow trails, dirt, some brush moderate terrain.
Lantern Bay Park: Take PCH north from San Clemente; turn left into Dana Point Harbor Drive. Turn right at Park Lantern, take an immediate right into the lower parking lot entrance, and walk up the hill.
La Pata: From I-5, Exit Avenida Vista Hermosa, go EAST (away from the ocean) to Avenida La Pata, turn left. At Calle Saluda, turn right. At Corte Alamansa (just at bottom of hill) turn right. Park anywhere in marked spaces, we will walk to the trail-head.
Las Ramblas: Exit Camino Las Ramblas from Interstate 5, turn toward the hills away from the ocean. It's only about 3 miles where the street dead ends and you may park. Wide to narrowing dirt trails, easy to moderate-difficult, cool to warm temperatures, moderate to thick brush. Nature. Look for deer.
Los Mares: Exit Camino de Estrella from Interstate 5, turn east (away from the ocean). Continue on the road for several miles until street dead-ends. When you get to the end of Los Mares you have one option: Turn left and park on Portico Del Norte…this is a public street and it is OK to park along the curb. Meet at the Los Mares trail entrance. This trail takes you to San Juan hills. Wide trails, dirt, some brush moderate terrain.
Liberty Park: From I-5: Exit Avenida Vista Hermosa, go east (away from the ocean) to avenida La Pata, turn left. At Calle Saluda, turn right. Liberty Park is a couple of miles on the right hand side.
North Beach: From I-5: Exit Avenida Pico, go west (toward the ocean) pass El Camino Real drive to the Ole Hansen Bach Club, park in the Beach Club parking lot or North beach parking lot, coins needed for parking.
OC Sailing and Events Center is located adjacent to the protected ‘Baby Beach’ in the west basin of Dana Point Harbor. Take I-5 from North or South into Dana Point. Exit Camino Las Ramblas/Pacific Coast Highway and follow the turnoff towards Beach Cities/Pacific Coast Highway. Turn left on Dana Point Harbor Drive (entering Dana Point Harbor). Drive 1 mile on Dana Pt. Harbor Drive to Ensenada Place and the OC Sailing and Events Center on the left
Ocean View Plaza: Take Interstate 5 to Camino de Estrella, turn East, away from the Ocean. Camino de Estrella turns into Camino de los Mares. Turn right into the first parking entrance, 638 Camino de los Mares. Meet in the center of the parking lot.
Ridgeline (Dirt) Trails: Exit Pico from Interstate 5 in San Clemente, head toward the hills away from the ocean. Turn right on Presidio; follow the winding road up to Salvador, turn left, look for the water tower on the left. The address is 721 Salvador, Rancho San Clemente Ridgeline Trail entrance. Park on the street, moderate to difficult, dirt trail with thick brush, some single track. FUN and adventurous!
Salt Creek Trail: North on Pacific Coast Highway; pass the entrance to The Ritz Carlton. Make a left from the Coast Highway into the Salt Creek parking lot and park close to the bridge that leads to Salt Creek beach. $1.00 parking per hour.
San Clemente Pier: Merge onto I-5 S. Take the Ave Palizada exit- EXIT 75- toward San Clemente. 0.2 miles Turn RIGHT onto E Ave Palizada.0.5 miles Turn LEFT onto N Calle Seville. 0.1 miles Turn RIGHT onto Avenida Del Mar. 0.2 miles Avenida Del Mar becomes Avenida Victoria. <0.1 miles Park at the public parking area on the right, depending on class time you may need coins to feed the meters.
San Clemente Pier to San Onofre: Take Interstate 5 south exiting Palizada, turn west. At El Camino Real turn left. Go to Del Mar and turn right, take Del Mar to San Clemente Library, park in the back, parking is free.
South San Clemente: Exit Christianitos from Interstate 5, turn left. Drive about 20 feet to the end of the street. Turn left at El Camino Real. Turn right into Trestles parking lot (before Carl's Jr.) We will hike toward the beach or hike toward the hills, easy to extreme, wide dirt trails, moderate to thick brush. Some sand when hiking toward the beach.
State Beach: Take I-5 to Avenida Calafia (exit 73) in San Clemente, exit toward the Ocean. Take Avenida Calafia to the parking lot, park in the metered spaces. Meet at the beach below the stairs.
State Park Trails: Exit Pico from interstate 5, drive east. You will stay on Pico for several miles. Turn left on Camino La Pedrizo, Make a left on Corte Christianitos, park in the parking spaces on the right at Talega Park. 179 Corte Christianitos.
Talega: Exit Pico from interstate 5, drive east. You will stay on Pico for several miles. Turn left on Camino El Pedrizo, (we cannot park on the street anymore). Make a left on the Christianitos, parking at the Park. Beautiful terrain!
Hole in the Fence: On PCH below Palisades in Capistrano Beach. Park on the right side of PCH headed south, before the main parking lot. We will meet in the parking lot in front of the sign. No dirt, asphalt only. Cross trainer shoes recommended.

BOOT CAMP: Basic Training Boot Camp includes stretching, core conditioning, functional training, short distance running, hiking, muscular strength, circuit training and more. This program is designed for those desiring to lose weight, increase cardiovascular fitness and increase muscular strength more efficiently. It is for the beginner to the advanced client. Work out in a TEAM environment and push yourselves with others to reach your fitness goals.

CORE & FLEXIBILITY Flexibility is one of the five components of fitness. Without flexibility muscles become imbalanced and one may experience pain, stiffness and aching joints. Flexibility enhances all other athletic skills. We will take you through a series of stretches, core strengthening and muscular balance moves. Please bring exercise mat or towel. X-Training SCULPT: Meet every Tuesday for a fun circuit training experience. You will get a combination of full body strength training and cardiovascular work using medicine balls and exercise tubing. Be ready to sweat as you isolate your muscles for greater muscular sculpting and strengthening while incorporating short bursts of aerobic exercise for maintaining cardiovascular endurance. Bring a towel and water. (60 minutes)

ADVENTURE HIKING GUIDELINES: Layer your clothing preparing for weather changes, appropriate foot wear is essential. Wear UV protection hat & apparel, sunglasses, scarf, sunscreen, etc. Bring extra water, an energy snack and a lunch. First aid kit recommended. Hikers must have a fitness level to hike up to three hours or more at a 15-minute mile pace without compromising your health.
