Is it time to reevaluate your health and fitness goals?
It seems after the Holidays we are gun-ho about our fitness goals. Then about 3-weeks later, we seem to run out of steam.
Why does this happen, especially when we get off to such a good start?
Here are a few reasons and their solutions:
- Too enthusiastic. Doing too much too soon. Our bodies need a chance to build up to the stress an advanced workout puts on our bodies.
SOLUTION: Start slow, increasing the intensity of your workout at a slower pace.
- No plan. If you do not have a solid workout plan, you will skip workouts or fail in your intent.
SOLUTION: Schedule your workouts with yourself or a friend, then keep your appointment.
- Lack of knowledge. There is so much conflicting information calling to us. Confusion sets in and we don’t know what to believe.
SOLUTION: Hire a professional in the industry. Make sure the professional is certified in their craft.
- Boredom. Lack of interest. Working out alone can be difficult and lack motivation.
SOLUTION: Join a group that shares your similar interests and goals.
- Unrealistic goals. When one has goals that are too difficult to reach, temptation to give up sets in.
SOLUTION: Write down your goals, hire a professional to educate and coach you, don’t stop until you reach them.
